Make a friend, be a friend, and bring a friend to Christ….
What? Who me? …….. Yes you can!
Jesus said, “No greater love can a man have than to lay down one’s life for a friend.”
Do you love your friend enough to bring him or her to Christ? Would you at least introduce them? His love is too great to hold it to yourself!
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within reach of your saving embrace. So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your name. Amen

Special “40 Days” Liturgy for the Preborn
October 28, 2009Come out and join other Intercessors to pray for the pre-born children, and those already killed by abortion, the changing of hearts of mothers and fathers towards their own children, the conversion of doctors and staff towards the protection of life, and an end to abortion.
We will be gathering Saturday, November 28th at 10am. Prayer booklets will be provided.

Steps to Freedom – Weekend Workshop

Steps to Freedom is a healing/counseling/ministry/course which will be conducted in a weekend workshop Friday, November 6th, 7-9:30 in the sanctuary,Saturday, November 7th 9 AM to 4 PM in the Parish Hall, and Sunday, November 8th 4 to 7 PM in the Parish Hall. It is based on the work of Neil Anderson, who authored the books, Victory Over the Darkness and The Bondage Breaker.This format replaces the 13 weeks of meetings which had been the traditional means for conducting this course. Topics include: The Position of the Believer, The Mind and the Emotions, Shame, Forgiveness, Temptation, How Strongholds Develop and How Strongholds are Demolished. A $25 materials fee is required. Fr. Greg Ortiz, rector of Christ the King in New Paltz, NY will be consecrated to the office of Auxiliary Bishop of the Northeast Diocese of the Charismatic Episcopal Church, on Friday October 16th at 7pm
Fr. Greg will take on some of the administrative and traveling responsibilities of Archbishop Craig W. Bates around the diocese, who had become Patriarch of the ICCEC last summer.
Please keep Fr. Greg and his family in your prayers as he prepares for the call to serve and labor in the Church as an auxiliary bishop and an assistant to Archbishop Craig Bates.

HOP START

Household of Prayer “home groups” will begin meeting this week and through October and November, gathering in homes with friends, family, and neighbors to praise the Lord, study the Bible, pray with and encourage one another.
HOP Leaders will supply the music and bible study materials you need, so just bring your self, your bible, and perhaps someone you know.
Information on location and times of HOP groups can be obtained through the church office. You can join an existing home group or start your own.
Intercessor is a church grounded in Godly relationships in families, households, and neighborhoods through Households of Prayer.

Stand Up for Life

Sponsored by the Long Island Coalition for Life (www.ProLifeLI.org) , the public witness event is part of a national campaign to raise public awareness and give a voice to defenseless unborn children, as well as to give support of young women in crisis pregnancies. Across the country, people of all faiths and all ages stand at the curb in busy,public locations holding signs and praying. In dozens of towns and citizens, mile after mile of pro-life supporters will bring awareness to the fact that babies are being aborted right in their community, with young women deceived into abortion by the highly profitable abortion industry.
Church of the Intercessor will gather this Sunday, October 4th, on Rt. 110 in Huntington from 2:00pm-3:30pm at the southern portion of the Walt Whitman Mall near Washington Mutual Bank, across from the Dunkin Donuts
