At Church of the Intercessor, you will find people from all backgrounds and experiences, whose desire is to know God's love and forgiveness in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. We are an apostolic community that values the acceptance of people into the family of God. We believe that if one encounters the love of God then the purposes of God will be released in their lives. We are an active relational community. We acknowledge that everyone has both needs and a calling and is highly valued as a member of the Body of Christ. Therefore, we have various ministries in which you can find both a place to serve and also receive ministry. We know that God is working His transforming and healing power in us, even as we love and serve each other. Since those who have been forgiven much will love much, we welcome all who need and want help.

Prayer and Intercession

In addition to the Pastoral Staff and entire team of clergy, Cathedral members join together to pray for our family members and friends, our neighbors, the Church universal, and the world.  Besides developing a life of personal prayer, there are many ways to enter into the ministry of prayer and intercession with others.

Prayer Meetings:  Times to gather with others for prayer, on Sundays at 8:30am for the Daily Office, Weekdays at 12:30pm for Intercession, and Monthly every 1st Wednesday at 7:00pm before the Crave Service for a time of charismatic-prophetic prayer.

Emergency Prayer Team: a group of dedicated prayer warriors given to lifting up emergency prayer requests on behalf of Cathedral members and their families, who are in crisis. You may call the following numbers at the designated times: 6am-Noon: 516-599-2726; Noon-6pm: 516-825-4436; 6pm-Midnight: 516-766-7788

Long Term Prayer Team: a group of dedicated prayer warriors given to praying for Cathedral members with long-term severe or chronic needs

Crave: every 1st Wednesday of each month at 7:15pm, a powerful time of praise-worship music followed by a time of personal ministry and healing prayer.  Prayer teams intercede for the needs of individuals.

The Society of St. Michael:
A fellowship of International Communion of the Charismatic Episcopal Church (ICCEC) members,  set apart and joined together in spiritual warfare for the Church, its leaders and all members. The first purpose is to be a faithful source of intercessory prayer for the ICCEC and particularly, its clergy. The second purpose is to be a fellowship ministry that strengthens and support the spiritual life of the Society members.  Members pray daily on their own and once per month together.
