In addition to the Pastoral Staff and entire team of clergy, Cathedral members join together to pray for our family members and friends, our neighbors, the Church universal, and the world.
There are many ways to enter into the ministry of intercession…
Emergency Prayer Team: a group of dedicated prayer warriors given to lifting up emergency prayer requests on behalf of Cathedral members and their families.
Long Term Prayer Team: a group of dedicated prayer warriors given to praying for Cathedral members with long-term severe or chronic needs
Society of St. Seraphim: a domestic monastic order under vows to pray several times a day, with special focus on intercession for the Bishops and all the clergy of the ICCEC
The Daily Office: all Cathedral members are encouraged to develop a life of daily prayer. The Daily Office is a historical form of prayer used throughout the centuries of the Church. Individual instruction is available through the pastoral staff or others delegated to help everyone learn this fruitful discipline.
A Time with God: weekday 6am reflective prayer time with song and Scripture readings
1st Wednesday Prayer: every first Wednesday of each month, Intercessors gather for intense group prayer and worship; a powerful time of intercession for the Cathedral, our families and neighbohoods, the Church universal, and the nations of the world. The evening begins with pro-life prayers and ends with the Eucharist.
1st Saturday Prayer for the Preborn:every first Saturday of each month, Intercessors gather outside Planned Parenthood in Hempstead to pray for the pre-born children who have been or will be dismembered and put to death. The Liturgy for the Preborn at the Time of Death is prayed as well as pro-active and loving intercession for mothers, families, and all those who may participate in their deaths.
Households of Prayer: weekly home gatherings of Cathedral members and sometimes with friends and neighbors, where worship and prayer is lifted up to the Lord on behalf of families, friends and neighbors, the Church, the nation and the world.
